The AC44C6CF rebuilding included conversion to AC traction utilizing CAF USA designed electrical components,
new electrical and inverter cabinet, a TMV control system, a
Ganser common rail EUI system, and additional
weight was added to increase the unit up to 432,000 pounds when fully loaded with supplies.

All six axles are powered with CAF X.R0.00114 AC traction motors that fit the original Dash 9 truck frames.

Original cab and widenose were retained.

Unit is equipped with cab air conditioning.

Unit is equipped with NS LEADER/PTC (Positive Train Control) system.
