All units have EMD Flexicoil-C trucks.

Conversion to RPU6 class included complete rewiring, pilots were rebuilt with four steps
 instead of three (on former MT-6's), and the trucks were rebuilt as needed.

Units are designed for operation with NS EMD SD38-2 3821 and converted
NS EMD SD40-2 slug master units 6178-6205.
